The University of Hawaii at Manoa, also known as U.H. Manoa or simply the University of Hawaii is a public university and the flagship campus of the University of Hawaii system. The school is conveniently situated in the affluent neighborhood of Manoa in Honolulu. This is only one mile away from Waikiki and Ala Moana which are popular due to their beautiful beaches. It is also just 2 miles east from downtown Honolulu. The school is an accredited school of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is governed by the Hawaii State Legislature. Thus, you can say that this is one of the best schools in Hawaii. The University of Hawaii acceptance rate is 77.9% since 2014.
The school founded in 1907 has a total of over 14,000 undergraduate enrollees. The campus was built on 320 acres of land which provides more than enough space for all their students so they can be comfortable. The school follows a semester-based academic calendar and has ranked 161 in the 2016 edition of the Best Colleges and National Universities. It also ranked 88 in Top Public Schools in the entire country. These rankings were based according to their performance and standard indicators of excellence thus the university is the highest rated university in Hawaii.
The university is quite open to diversity. It accepts students from all races. The standard tuition for in-state enrollees is around $11,404 while out-of-state tuition is $31,516. For this year, the spring admission application is due on October 1st. However, the school is urging applicants to enroll earlier so they can be prioritized. This will also increase their chances of receiving financial and and student housing. There are also several programs like social work, education and nursing who have earlier admission deadlines. All applicants are required to complete all requirements before they are considered for admission. First requirement is for the applicant to have finished his high school degree. All applicants are also required to take the standardized tests. Students must take either ACT or SAT depending on the program they will be enrolling in.
