An angled corner kitchen of just over 100 square feet became a highly functional mini masterpiece through the remodeling talents of Details International Inc. The small space inhabits a two-bedroom O‘ahu condominium, located on the 18th floor of a high-rise in Nu‘uanu, Honolulu’s main valley.

A kitchen design must feature near-universal appeal -- and superb functionality -- if it is going to be replicated through an entire series of homes. That was the challenge facing WCIT Architecture as it provided complete interior design services for the Wai‘ula‘ula luxury home collection, located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawai‘i, part of Mauna Kea Resort, a famed 48-acre oceanfront development created by Laurance S. Rockefeller in 1964.

KITCHEN OF THE QUARTER Any competent interior designer knows that a functional work triangle, top quality appliances, upscale materials, and tasteful cabinetry and lighting all contribute to a beautiful yet efficient cooking and gathering space. Still, for an outstanding kitchen that is a joy to work or socialize in, a great designer must begin with that indispensable secret ingredient – the Aloha.
